Women’s Rights

Women’s rights refer to the legal, social, and economic rights and privileges that are afforded to women. This term encompasses a range of issues, including but not limited to the right to vote, to work, to receive an education, to own property, to make decisions about one’s own body, and to be free from discrimination and violence. Women’s rights advocate for gender equality, aiming to eliminate systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect women and to promote the fair treatment of women in all areas of life. The women’s rights movement has historically sought to challenge and change social norms, laws, and practices that have perpetuated gender-based discrimination and oppression, striving to secure fundamental human rights for women globally.
