Tennis

Tennis is a racquet sport played either individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). The objective of the game is to hit a lightweight, hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net and into the opponent’s court in such a way that the opponent is not able to return it. The game is played on a rectangular court, which can be made of grass, clay, or hard surfaces, marked with specific lines for scoring areas. Players score points by successfully landing the ball in the opponent’s designated area, and the game is organized into sets and matches based on predetermined rules. Tennis combines physical endurance, precision, strategic thinking, and technique, making it a competitive and popular sport worldwide. It is governed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and has a rich history, including prestigious tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open.
