Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England. Founded in 1992, it replaced the Football League First Division as the highest level of the English football league system. The league consists of 20 teams that compete against each other, with each team playing a total of 38 matches over a season, which runs from August to May. Teams earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. At the end of the season, the teams that finish at the bottom of the league table are relegated to the EFL Championship, while the top teams from the Championship are promoted to the Premier League. The Premier League is known for its competitive nature, the quality of its players, and its significant global following. It is one of the most popular and commercially successful sports leagues in the world.
